Dress Codes

Dress codes are an important aspect of participation in dance classes. Appropriate dancewear allows instructors to observe proper development and technique, and to encourage injury prevention through early intervention of misalignments in the body.

Read more about the importance of appropriate dancewear here: Beyond the Barre: Leotard, Tights, Hair in a Bun; What's Up With The Ballet Dress Code?

Please note: shoes that are too BIG are difficult to dance in. Teachers cannot see if feet are pointed and cannot hear tap sounds properly when students have too much room. Please do not buy shoes with “lots of room to grow.”

Hair must be securely fastened to the head in a neat bun or similar style, with bangs either pulled back away from the face and forehead or trimmed short enough to stay out of the eyes.
